A 12-year-old schoolboy has attended a reception in honour of Joseph Kennedy III.
Charlie Webb, a pupil at Enniskillen Royal Grammar School, was invited by the United States Consul General to the event.
It marked the end of Mr. Kennedy's term as US Special Envoy to Northern Ireland for Economic Affairs.
Charlie first met Mr. Kennedy in June at the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Commemorative Event at Enniskillen Model Primary School, where he was a P7 pupil.
At the event, Charlie was tasked with interviewing VIP guests including Mr. Kennedy and the United States Consul General James Applegate.
He also interviewed the then Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Chris Heaton-Harris, Viscount Brookeborough, and Councillor John McClaughry, chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
Reflecting on the farewell reception at the United States Consul General’s Residence in Belfast, Charlie said: "This was a very special occasion.
"It was such an honour to be invited and meet Mr. Kennedy before he left his office as Special Envoy.
"I presented him with a handcrafted pen made from Fermanagh bog oak, which Mr Kennedy was delighted to receive, given his ancestral connections with the County.
"It is an experience I will never ever forget and I am so very grateful to have been given such an opportunity."
Mr. Kennedy signed a photograph taken at the D-Day 80 event and asked Charlie to sign a copy, which he said he would display in his office back in the United States.
