The Executive has reaffirmed its commitment to ending violence against women and girls.
The statement was issued on White Ribbon Day, which marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls, and the start of a period known as the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
The Executive said: "The Executive is united in our commitment to end violence against women and girls.
“Following the events of recent weeks, we reaffirm our commitment to working together across the Executive to do everything we can to achieve our vision of ‘a changed society where women and girls are free from all forms of gender-based violence, abuse and harm’.”
First Minister Michelle O’Neill said: "We have to break the cycle of violence and abuse against women and girls.
"It is preventable and there is something everyone can do.
"Our Strategic Framework takes a whole of government and society approach, with a clear focus on prevention and stopping the violence before it starts."
Emma Little-Pengelly, deputy First Minister, said: "Ending all forms of violence, abuse, and harm against women and girls is one of the most pressing challenges facing our society today.
"We are united in our commitment to tackle this important issue."
