A nine-year-old from Fermanagh will represent her county with pride next week on the RTÉ Late Late Toy Show.
Lucy Hamilton, a pupil at St. Mary's Primary School, Maguiresbridge will take part in the County parade - a new feature as part of RTÉ's Late Late Toy Show on December 6. A child from each of Ireland's 32 counties will take part in the special parade.
The P6 student remained tight-lipped as to what she will be doing as part of the show but told this newspaper that she is "really excited".
Describing how she felt when she was told she was going to be on the Toy Show, she said: "I couldn't believe it!"
Discussing the audition process Lucy explained: "I showed that I could play my guitar and had my Grade One singing."
Lucy played 'Zombie' by the Cranberries on her electric guitar as part of her audition and explained that she was inspired by Suzi Quattro, whom she met backstage at a concert two years ago.
As part of her audition, Lucy also had to explain her county pride, in it she described her family's involvement with Fermanagh GAA as part of the kit team for the Fermanagh Senior Men's team.
Lucy herself has been a help on match days, filling up water bottles for the team in Brewster Park and hanging up jerseys."Later, Lucy proudly wore a Fermanagh jersey to the rehearsals at RTÉ.
Word of Lucy's special TV appearance has already spread through the village after a big announcement was made in school, Lucy explained: "My Principal, Mr. Prunty told the whole school in assembly!"
She said her schoolmates were "all surprised".
Lucy is a fan of the Toy Show and has watched it for a number of years but this year it will be special when she is on the show.
Her little sister, Evie (3) will watch at home. Her mum Shauneen Beggan said: "We are very proud, it was emotional in the studio watching her work with them as we sat in the gallery, it was great."
When asked what she is most looking forward to on the night, Lucy said: "It is hard to think, but the toys."
Outside of school and music, she enjoys crocheting classes as well as sewing by machine and hand.
When she returns from the Toy Show, Lucy will be back to performing taking on the role of an Oompa Loompa in Enniskillen Light Operatic's production of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' at the Ardhowen Theatre.
Lucy will appear on RTÉ's Late Late Toy Show at 9.35pm next Friday night, December 6.
