Generous George Latimer, from Newtownbutler, recently used the occasion of his 90th birthday to help support the Chest, Heart and Stroke charity, due to himself and many of his family suffering from these illnesses in the past.
While George celebrated his birthday with a party in Corick House with family and friends – belated birthday greetings, George – he kindly asked for donations for the charity in lieu of presents.
That wasn’t the end of his charitable outlook, as when he and his wife, Ina, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary a few weeks later, they again wished for donations in lieu of presents to help support the same charity.
Following this, a Chest, Heart and Stroke charity representative, Ali, is pictured after travelling to their home, just outside Newtownbutler, to receive a cheque for £1,000 from George and Ina.
On the charity’s behalf, Ali thanked George and Ina for their kind-hearted gesture, with the charity very grateful for their donation that will be put to very good use supporting its vital work, and she wished George and Ina all the very best.
