A Fermanagh based Republican society has held a protest at the new McDonald's drive-thru in Enniskillen against the company's alleged complicity in Israel's genocide in Gaza.
The Robert Emmet 1916 Society Lisnaskea erected a banner outside the fast food restaurant on Wednesday evening, November 27 on the first day of the new build restaurant.
The banner read: "McDonald's supports genocide in Gaza. No happy meals in Palestine."
A spokesperson for the society said: "The banner clearly outlines McDonald's complicity in Genocide.
"The fast food franchise who are feeding the Israeli Occupation Forces (for free) who are committing War Crimes in Palestine.
"We ask for people to show a humanitarian consciousness and boycott those who profit from the slaughter of men, women, and children in Gaza and The West Bank."
While the McDonald's corporate entity does not explicitly support Israel, the independently operated franchise in the country, recently donated thousands of free meals to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and hospitals during the ongoing conflict.
This decision was not endorsed or directed by McDonald's global management but an independent decision by the Israeli franchise.
Protests to boycott McDonald's have been held across the world over their perceived support of Israel.
In April, McDonald's said it would buy all of the 225 outlets from the franchisee Alonyal.
