A modern West End classic will be staged by some talented students from Enniskillen Royal Grammar School’s Senior Drama Club.
‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ by Richard Bean will be staged on Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7 in the Steele Hall at the Lough Shore site of the school.
The play focuses on Francis Henshall who ends up working for two men, Roscoe Crabbe, a gangster who is actually Rachael Crabbe in disguise, escaping from the scene of a crime, and Stanley Stubbers, an upper-class member of society who is in love and hiding from the police.
A spokeswoman for the school’s drama department said: “Last year, our Senior Drama production of ‘Amadeus’, transported the audience to the Imperial Palace in 18th century Vienna to spend some time with Mozart, one of the world’s greatest musicians. This year’s production is much more down market. We are going to sunny Brighton in 1963 to meet Francis Henshall and the other small-time gangsters of Richard Bean’s hit West End play, ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’.
“The play is a modern adaptation of the Commedia dell’Arte play ‘The Servant of Two Masters’. With sun, sea, music, food, dancing, mistaken identity, love and slapstick, this play is just the thing to escape the winter gloom.”
