A Lisbellaw woman was among 49 Student Laureates honoured for her contributions to society.
Anna Moore was one of 49 Student Laureates inducted on Saturday, October 26, at the University of Illinois Springfield.
The ceremony, held in the Sangamon Auditorium, celebrated exceptional seniors from Illinois' four-year degree-granting institutions who were recognised with the prestigious Abraham Lincoln Civic Engagement Award and the Lincoln Medallion.
Anna Moore, a political science student at Wheaton College, Chicago, is from Lisbellaw, Northern Ireland.
She is a former pupil of Enniskillen Royal Grammar School.
Anna, who hopes to pursue further studies and a career in law, was among the 2024 class of student laureates acknowledged for their leadership, service, and excellence in both curricular and extracurricular activities.
Each student was selected by their respective institutions.
The Lincoln Academy of Illinois, which organised the ceremony, aims to honour individuals whose significant contributions have improved humanity or brought honour to the State of Illinois.
The awards were presented by the Academy Chancellor, the Honourable Ron Spears, and each student laureate received a certificate signed by Spears and the President of The Lincoln Academy, Governor JB Pritzker.

The certificates were accompanied by a Lincoln medallion, a challenge coin, and a $1,000 cheque from The Lincoln Academy.
The Student Laureate program, now in its 50th year, recognises outstanding seniors from Illinois' colleges and universities for their excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities.
Among the honourees were students from various institutions, including Augustana College, Aurora University, and Bradley University, representing a wide array of hometowns across Illinois and beyond.
The Lincoln Academy also confers the "Order of Lincoln," the State of Illinois' highest award, to laureates who have made significant contributions to humanity, a tradition that began in 1964.
