Dear Madam, - With great disappointment I have read the abusive comments from Sinn Fein members/supporters regarding the recent FST election result. As a nationalist I voted for the local SDLP candidate Mr John Coyle. Michelle Gildernew sought my vote but she declines to represent me in Parliament. Empty seat politics is a luxury I cannot afford to be without. Issues such as Austerity, Jobs, Health, Fracking, Trident, Europe and many more need local representation in Parliament. Regretfully the Tories have a majority government and may now bull dose English policies all over Northern Ireland. Again no questions asked from the empty seats of Sinn Fein. In NI we have suffered with a Sinn Fein/DUP coalition government. This inept relationship appears to be about power and sterling and not about representation. It is time Sinn Fein delivered more than hypocrisy. I challenge Michelle to tell the electorate and make public her total incomes and expense claims for the 14 years she did not attend parliament. I view Sinn Fein as offensive to Protestantism and divisive in their own community. I view votes for Sinn Fein to be a protestant hate count. This is not the united Ireland which I aspire to. I seek an Ireland which all religions are welcome equally and nobody need live in fear, an Ireland my protestant neighbour would want to be a part of. The challenge for Sinn Fein is to persuade all of the community likewise.
