DEAR MADAM - There has been much debate going on recently about human rights, homosexuality and same sex marriages, whether they are right or wrong. The answer depends whether you believe the word of God or the opinions of man.
There is no middle ground in the matter, either you believe the teaching of Holy Scripture or you deny it at your peril.
In the beginning, “God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth and subdue it,” (Gen, 1: 27, 28).
Therefore procreation of life can only be accomplished by sexual intercourse between male and female in all God’s created creatures. Any other form of sexual union between the same sex, male and female, is sin and is an abomination in God’s sight.
All the evil that we read and hear of that is taking place in the world today is the consequence of the fall of our first parents Adam and Eve in the garden.
“Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation,” Romans 5:18. “We all by nature are children of wrath”, Eph. 2:3. The wise man tells us, “Lo, this only have I found, that God made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions,” Eccles. 7:29. Because of the sin of our father Adam, man has become mortal, separated from God, spiritually dead in trespasses and in sin without any hope of a remedy within himself, having lost the holiness and the spiritual blessing in which God created him.
When Adam fell we lost everything. But if we receive the gift of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ everything and much more will be restored. Because the blood of Christ Jesus cleanseth us from all sin.
It is our separation from God our Creator, who is the only source of holiness, purity and happiness, it is man’s incapacity for good, and man’s hatred and enmity towards God that is the consequence of the fall of all men; and being without Christ in our lives that we are under the dominion of sin and Satan, Acts 26:18. There is no evil in the world that we are not all capable of, but for the restraining grace of God. Man is so ruined by the fall of Adam that we cannot keep the commandments of God perfectly even for one hour. Those who boast about keeping the law have never had the plumb line of God’s law set against their thoughts and deeds. They forget that one single act of disobedience against God’s law will bring down upon them the full wrath and justice of God in eternal damnation without mercy or grace, (Numbers 15:35; Galatians 3:10).
But thanks are unto God, “Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound,” Rom. 5:20. But God for His divine love for lost sinners sent forth His Beloved Son, Jesus, to be a Saviour and Redeemer of His people. There is no sin unpardonable except blasphemy against the Holy Ghost that God will not forgive.
So then turn from your evil ways, repent of your sins and believe the Gospel. Come right now and seek God’s mercy and His grace in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Yours faithfully, STEWART BOYD Gordonville, Coleraine, Co. Londonderry.
