Enniskillen Royal Grammar School will be going in search of a place in the draw for next round of the Danske Bank Schools’ Cup when they host Armagh Royal School this Saturday (11am).
ERGS set up the Armagh encounter with a commanding win over Dromore and coach Rhys Botha says that things have been going well since that game.
“Preparations have gone really well and we have everyone available for selection for Saturday,” said Botha, who feels that the win over Dromore will have given the side great confidence.
“It’s always great to get the first win under the belt. We played some really great rugby against Dromore and that has given a lot of confidence which we have used in our preparation for the match against Armagh,” he added.
The sides met earlier in the season with ERGS claiming a win in a tight game but Botha states that they have been working on a number of things in preparation for this Saturday’s clash.
“We played them at the start of the year and came away with a narrow win. They have improved as the season has progressed but so have we. We know where there strengths are and hopefully our preparation these last two weeks will address them.”
He believes though that the result will come down to which side makes the fewest errors on the day.
“I think it will come down to who makes the least mistakes and we have worked hard to ensure that we limit our mistakes on the pitch. Our defence has worked really well for us during the season and hopefully we can build on that going into the match on Saturday,” said Botha.
ERGS will have the advantage of the game being played on their home pitch and Botha is hoping for a good support to roar the boys on against Armagh.
“Home advantage is crucial in any schools cup match as you will have the local support and obviously home pitch knowledge is invaluable. Hopefully there will be a good crowd of past and present pupils as well as family support for the boys on Saturday,” he concluded.
