The ladies competed in the Euan Richmond sponsored stroke play competition on June 19.
With good conditions came good scores. Veronica Bogue was the best on the day with a nett 67. The big hitting Josie Boyle was runner up with a nett 69.

Next up for the ladies was the annual Club V Par competition where the players tried to beat the course. The course was second best to Rita McKechnie who was the winner with an excellent +7. Deirdre McSorley came second with a great score of +5. Sandra McElroy won the front nine with +4 and Patricia Durnien was the back nine winner with +3.
Stroke play continued with the Monaghan Brothers sponsored open. Linda Armstrong was the winner with a nett 68. Dympna Slowey came second with a nett 70 on countback from Susan May who came third.
The ladies competed in a club stableford competition on June 29. Anne Reihill made the best of the good conditions to return a wonderful score of 42 points to take first place.
Jill Hamilton’s score of 38 points was enough to claim second place. Marina Brownlee took the front nine prize with an impressive 23 points while Doreen Cathcart produced the best back nine of the day with 21 points.
The LEGS 9 hole competition continues every Thursday and is well attended. Jennie Scholes was the winner on June 17 with 20 points. Audrey Williamson and Moira Parfitt claimed second and third place respectively.
On June 24, Kate O’Kane was the winner with 20 points on countback from Doreen Cathcart who came second.
Fantastic 21 points
July’s first winner was Sally Redmond with a fantastic 21 points. Doreen Cathcart continues to show good form with a second place 20 points. Sandra McElroy made up the placings with 17 points.
The minor cup team captained by Deirdre McSorley played their second round match against Bangor. In what were very difficult weather conditions, they lost out narrowly to Bangor Golf Club. Commiserations to the team.
The Junior Foursomes team of Josie Boyle, Joanne Daly, Deirdre McSorley, Orla Foster, Marina Brownlee and Dympna Slowey played their first round match against a formidable Royal County Down team. The Enniskillen ladies emerged victorious and await Killymoon Golf Club in the next round. Well done to Team Captain Gladys Fisher and the team.
The Ladies get into golf programme has reached week five. Having completed their lessons with Adam, the ladies have had the opportunity to play a few holes on the course and the talent on show bodes well for the future of the ladies section.
The club matchplay season is well underway with the first trophy being won by Audrey Williamson. Audrey emerged victorious in the Bob Chambers Cup with a 2&1 victory over the men’s qualifier Andrew Mowat.
The Hospice, Guinness and Rugby Cup are progressing well with Round two just completed.
