Fintona Masters
Some 28 years ago a youthful auctioneer came up with the idea of the Fintona Masters complete with a green jacket for the winner and Paddy McGurk was the first winner.
Different sponsors have covered the competition and the current sponsor is AC Golf proprietor Ashley Clements. We are very grateful to him for this.
That youthful auctioneer back then was John Kelly who has now bridged the gap and topped the list of winners on Saturday with an amazing 48 points, with nearly 20 players scoring 40+.
Declan O’Hagan was second with 45 points and he also qualified for the next round of the Tankard competition for which this was a club qualifier.
Ainsley Kelly was third with 44, Pete Henry won the gross with 36 and Justin McCallan took the Seniors with 43 points, Pierce McAleer won the juvenile prie with 40 and the nines were won by Ian Clements and Paul Traynor, both with 23 points. Many thanks again to Ashley for his support.
The club would like to pass on the condolences of the captain, council and club members on the recent death of John Kelly who was a member with us. May he rest in peace.
