Mountfield 0 Enniskillen Rangers 4
Enniskillen Rangers ended their away losing streak with an impressive 4-0 victory in Omagh on Saturday.
The ‘Gers travelled to Youth Sport Omagh to take a Mountfield side who were just two points behind them coming into the fixture.
But thanks to two goals in either half the visitors ran out comfortable winners.
Rangers manager, Neill Coulter was delighted with his teams dominant performance on the day: “It was good win, a good professional performance by ourselves and it was nice to get the victory.” he said.
Coulter added that while it was their first away win in a while the performances had been there:
“We hadn’t won away for a while but like I said before the performances have been very good, we just haven’t got the rub of the green and on Saturday we took our chances and that is what it all boils down to really.”
The game was 10 minutes old when Mark Cutler got his first of the day.
Ciaran Brough picked up a loose ball in midfield and he found Jason Keenan with a defence splitting pass.
The striker’s shot was saved by the Mountfield keeper but Cutler was on hand to fire home the rebound.
Cutler’s second came five minutes from the break as he rose highest to head home a Keenan cross into the top corner to leave it 2-0 at half time.
Rangers continued to dominate with Mountfield rarely threatening in the second period and with an hour played Keenan got his goal.
Good work by Stuart Rainey and Mark White saw the latter fire the ball into the box where Keenan was able to take a touch before firing home.
With time nearly up, Rangers got their fourth of the day from Brough who reacted quickest to a Jake Brown shot that was saved by the Mountfield keeper.
Coulter is now looking for his side to bring that quality of performance into their Mulhern tie this weekend against Ballinamallard Reserves.
“We are trying to push ourselves as far as we can up the league and build for next season.
“It was a good display coming into a very good game against a youthful and exuberant Ballinamallard side in the Mulhern.
“It will be a tough game, they are going well but we are looking forward to it.”
