Fermanagh Motorcycle Club held the fifth and final round of the Irish Cross Country Championship at the amazing Castle Irvine Estate in an event that was part of the Lady of the Lake festival.
Matthew Cathcart was in flying form and just took the win by 14 seconds in the last lap just beating the stalwart Harold Crawford. Crawford along with Barry Donaghy of Proride timing, are heading to Romania this week to compete in one of the toughest Extreme Enduro races in the world. Best of luck to them.
Third place went to Angus Leonard all the way from Cork who took the third position narrowly from Leo Norhtcliffe from Antrim by one second in the last lap.
There were lots of local competitors competing.
Ryan Edwards in Experts took ninth position. In the Senior category Scott Thompson took eighth position just beating club member Joe Sweeney in the last lap by nine secondss.
In Clubmen one of the youngest local riders Joey McGirr,16, came a fantastic seventh out of 40 riders in his category.
A total of 131 riders who took part in what was an excellent competition.

A massive thank you again to all the members who helped set out an amazing fast flowing track and to all who marshalled the track, from members, locals, Lakeland Cycle Club and many more.
Also to Proride Timing for an efficient and faultless timing system and to the riders who literally came from all over, from Antrim to Cork.
