Lisnaskea 1-10 Teemore 1-11
Teemore continued their impressive form in Division Two on Friday night and went two points clear at the top, ahead of Belcoo with a narrow win over neighbours Teemore.
The Shamrocks travelled to Emmet Park winning by a single point on a scoreline of 1-10 to 1-11.
Teemore came out with a strong start, scoring two early points through Sean McNally and a Ronan McCaffrey free kick. Lisnaskea responded with scores from Hayden Lynch to level things.
Sean McNally then put the visitors in the driving seat with a smart finish into the Skea net after catching a long-range shot that fell short.
Eoin McCabe and Joe McDade added points for the home side with Aaron Lee tying things up just before the half-time whistle as the teams went in all tied at 0-6 to 1-3.
Paul Doherty and Ruairi Maguire opened the scoring for Teemore in the second half, with the Emmetts responding through Adam McKenna and Niall Keenan.
Lisnaskea then found some rhythm scoring a goal and two points to make things difficult for Teemore.
Ogie Kelly worked himself into a great position despite pressure from the Teemore defence and played it across the goal for Hayden Lynch to tap the ball home and add to an impressive individual scoring display.
However, Teemore would finish strongly with a free kick and a point from play from Eoin McManus, two points from Oisin Murphy and another one from Aaron Lee to level things up.
Eoin McManus then scored the all-important winner in the dying seconds with a long-range free-kick to pick up the win for the division leaders.
Teemore manager Barry Owens said his team need to improve after the game: “We were lucky because we did not play well and Lisnaskea missed a lot of chances that could have changed things. We have a big game against Irvinestown on Friday night so we know we are going to have to improve.”
Lisnaskea assistant manager Pearse Collins was left disappointed with the result: “I was generally happy with the first half performance after a slow start by both teams, we conceded a very soft goal but we managed to go in at half time all square.
“Second half we managed to go five ahead but some poor decision-making let Teemore back in the game.
“Some great long-range points from Teemore brought them back into the game and they got the last minute free to put them ahead.”
Lisnaskea will be hoping to improve their fortunes with a trip to Maguiresbridge on Friday night.
