Devenish 1-11 Roslea 2-08
It remains as you were at the bottom of the Division One table after Devenish and Roslea shared the spoils in Garrison on Friday night.
The sides stay in the relegation zone in the table with Devenish a point ahead of Roslea although they are now level with St. Pat’s as the scrap for survival moves into the last two weeks.
The Shamrocks looked as if they were on their way to the points as a Sean Quigley goal five minutes from time helped them into a three point lead.
However, right at the death Joe O’Brien forced the ball over the line after a Terry O’Flanagan fisted effort as the sides had to settle for a share of the spoils.
“We were happy to get a draw in the end given the way the game finished but overall I thought we were good enough to win the game but for the two disappointing goals,” said Devenish joint manager Marty O’Brien.
Roslea manager Eamon Kavanagh felt that his side had done enough to secure the points on the night.
“We were unlucky, they got their goal in injury time and I thought we probably deserved to win the game and we’re disappointed that we didn’t see it out,” he said.
There was little between the sides in the first half as they went in at the break level, 0-06 to 1-03.
Niall Clerkin scrambled home the Shamrocks goal while Seamie Quigley tagged on points.
Fionan O’Brien, Luke Robinson and Ruairi Maguire registered for Devenish in the opening half.
Seamie Quigley edged Roslea ahead early in the second half but Devenish were then awarded a penalty. However, Maguire’s effort hit the bar and went over.
The sides then traded points as the game remained tight but Roslea looked as if they would snatch the points when Sean Quigley punched a Niall Cosgrove high ball to the net.
Indeed, Niall Beggan had the chance to seal the win for Roslea but he hit the post and in added on time Devensh swooped for the equaliser as O’Brien bundled the ball home to leave it level at the finish.
