Having dropped down from the INtermediate Championship last season, Aghadrumsee will be looking to make a quick return and they will be hoping for a strong start when they take on Brookeborough on Saturday.

While Aghadrumsee's league campaign was a mixed bag, Brookeborough have yet to register a win this season so the Junior Championship will give both sides the chance to build some confidence and momentum.

Aghadrumsee attacker, Eddie Courtney, acknowledges inconsistency in their performances and hopes it is something they can eradicate.

"I suppose after a very mixed league campaign all we are looking to do is put in a good performance against Brookeborough. "Our form has been very up and down so we just want to get a bit of consistency back in our performances," he said.

To do this Courtney alongside John Joe Strain, Enda McCabe and Damien McCarville will be expected to put in big performances.

The Magpies maybe viewed in some quarters as favourites for the Junior title, but Courtney disagrees: "With regards to being favourites I think based on merit Newtownbutler would be strong favourites going off their league results so there isn't much pressure on us that way.

"More so under pressure from ourselves to try and raise our levels of performance up to where they should be."

And Courtney hopes that they will be able to raise their performances when they face Brookeborough.

"Against Brookeborough it's another derby game so I would be expecting a tight encounter that could go either way. I think we just need to go and work hard with the right attitude and hopefully that will be enough."

For Brookeborough manager, Barry McKenna, he knows the challenge that faces his side, but says the club are looking to the future and a rebuilding process.

For this he will be looking to the likes of Zak Kyle, Rory Greene, Dylan Bogue and Aidy Boyle to lead the charge.

"Training has been going very well but we probably kind of know what task we have ahead of us with them being favourites.

"We just have to wait and see what way it goes on the day but you would be expecting they will be very strong."

McKenna said the league campaign was used as a platform to look at players and building towards the championship and beyond: "Really whenever we went in it was for a two or three year plan with Brookeborough.

"It is really getting our feet down and see where boys can play and getting into a different fitness levels and

"It has built up for championship but next year and the year after is when we would be looking to get more results."

Looking at the Aghadrumsee game McKenna believes they will have eyes on the title.

"You'd be saying that their ambitions will be to win the Junior and maybe give Ulster a rattle.

"The pressure is really on Aghadrumsee, whereas we can go in with not much pressure on us at all."
