There were some excellent performances all round at the Fermanagh Schools’ Cross-Country Championships which were held at Necarne last week.
In the Girls’ section, Megan Mullally took the victory on the Year 8 race while Annabelle McKenzie held off Eden Davis to secure the win in the Year 9 event.
Ellie Dunlop of ERGS claimed top spot in the Year 10 race, ahead of Mount Lourdes pair Dearbhla Clawson and Tori Gallagher, while there was a clean sweep for Mount Lourdes in the Year 11/12 race, with Aoibhinn Kelly coming in ahead of Ciara O’Donnell and Kellie McAnespy.
In the Boys’ section, Piaras Toner took gold in the Year 8 race, taking over with 400 metres to go to finish in front of Luca Hall, while Jack Donnelly took the honours in the Year 9 race.
A strong performance by Harry McKenzie of ERGS saw him win from the front in the Year 10 Boys, while Ben Warnock, of St. Kevin’s, secured the victory in the Year 11/12 Boys.
In the team events, Mount Lourdes took gold in all four sections in the Girls’ races while in the Boys’, St. Michael’s won the Year 8 and Year 9 races, with ERGS top in the Year 10 and St. Kevin’s finishing first in the Year 11/12.
