• Fermanagh’s season came to an end as they failed to recover from a poor opening in losing 2-16 to 0-13 to Cavan in the Tailteann Cup.
• A slow start was also costly for Fermanagh Ladies as they lost to Carlow in the opening All-Ireland Junior Championship game. However, they bounced back with victory over London and with Derry withdrawing, it saw James Daly’s side progress to the last four of the competition.
• Conall Mahon produced a superb last jump to claim gold and retain his Irish Triple Jump title at the Irish National Championships at Morton Stadium. Mahon was sitting second with one jump to go, but his leap of 14.68 took him to gold.
• The All-Ireland Schools’ Track and Field Championships in Tullamore saw local athletes return with three Irish titles. St. Michael’s Jack O’Connor stormed to victory in the Minor 100m, Sean Corry of St. Michael’s won 800m gold and Devenish’s Oliver Polak claimed the gold in the Discus.
• Success continued on the track with 15 medals coming back with local athletes from the Ulster/NI Age Group Championships at the Antrim Forum. Jack O’Connor, Ben Warnock and Annabel Morrison were among those who won gold.
• Annabel Morrison won gold, and Frank Buchanan silver, at the Schools’ Inter-Provincial Athletics in Tullamore.
• Michael Kerr returned to the hot seat at Enniskillen Rangers after Neil Coulter stepped down from the position.
• Darren Higginbotham was appointed as the new Irvinestown Wanderers Manager.
• Fivemiletown ended an 11-year wait for silverware by lifting the Marshall Cup. Goals from Ethan Jordan and Glen Clarke sealed a 2-0 win over Oxford Sunnyside.
• Maguiresbridge PS won the Fermanagh Schools Kwik Cricket Tournament.
• Lee Johnston narrowly missed out on a podium spot at the Isle of Man TT.
• Josh Elliott brushed off a three-year absence to return to the top of the podium on his return to competitive racing at the Dunlop Masters. Elliott recorded two wins and a second-place finish.
• Enniskillen Lakelanders picked up nine medals and 21 PBs at the Bangor Summer Sizzler. Meanwhile, Ellie McCartney, representing Ards Swimming Club, won three golds at the same meet.
• Enniskillen Lakelanders captured the Aquasprint A title at Omagh Leisure Centre.
• Zara Hutchinson was named in the extended Ireland Women’s U-18 7s squad for the Rugby Europe U-18 Women’s 7s Championship.
• There was a great medal haul for Portora rowers at the National Masters Rowing Championships in Nottingham.
• ERBC Girls were among the top eight crews at the Peabody Cup at Henley Women’s Regatta.
• Erne Boxers came back from international competitions with three silvers and a bronze medal.
• There was an excellent weekend of sailing at the J24 National Championships, which were held at Lough Erne Yacht Club.
• A late puncture cost Alastair Fisher on the penultimate stage of the Donegal International Rally. Fisher was within four seconds of the leader Josh Moffett when the puncture struck as he went on to finish in fifth place.
• There were seven medals for Fermanagh BJJ members at the Grappling Industries Belfast event.
• Joe Maguire won the Captain’s Day prize at Enniskillen Golf Club, Katie McGoldrick the Lady Captain’s prize at Fintona, and Sharron Miles the Lady Captain’s prize at Lough Erne.
