NI ASPIRE 2-PIECE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Bridge Gymnastics Club attended Northern Ireland Aspire 2-Piece Championships - these are the floor and vault championships, held in Shooting Starz Gymnastics in Derry.

The club had 15 girls compete against gymnasts from all across Northern Ireland and came away with some fantastic results.

Level 4 -

Lily Watson: 2nd floor, 2nd vault,

Level 3 age 5 -

Evie Mae Swift: 1st floor, 1st vault, NI champion

Indi Burke: 2nd floor, 2nd vault, 2nd AA

Level 3 -

Thea Johnston: 1st floor, 1st vault, NI champion

Julia Grey: 3rd floor

Lola Stewart: 3rd floor

Jessica Grey: 3rd vault, 3rd AA

Maisie Millar: 4th floor, 4th vault

And Bridge’s big win of the day was one of their Level 3 teams winning the all around Level 3 team champions over all other clubs in Northern Ireland. Its a great reward for the time and dedication both the gymnasts and coaches put in.

The club want to congratulate all the other girls that competed: Ellen Cleary, Tiana Swift, Connie Harty, Rosie Beatty, Georgia Smith, Billie Ellison, Grace Gawley.

The results are a testament to the girls who put in hours of hard work and dedication in the gym each week. Its a great boost for them and the club.

Bridge Gymnastics Club are now working hard with our 4 piece squad ahead of their championships in the coming weeks.

NI VALENTINES 4-PIECE QUALIFIERS

In February, Bridge Gymnastics Club competed at the NI 4 Piece qualifiers competition, held in Abbey Gymnastics Belfast.

This was their second qualifying competition to make it to the championships in a few weeks time.

To qualify for the championships the girls must place in the top 10, and luckily 21/25 of the girls did. This alone is a huge achievement in itself considering the girls were competing against gymnasts from England, Republic Of Ireland, Germany and America.

The Club had lots of girls from their 4 piece and artistic squads compete. Some of which train 12 plus hours a week, and the results paid off.

Aoife Kelly: 8th bars

Olivia Hobbs: 2nd vault

Level 4 -

Ella Martin: 6th bars, 6th floor

Arabella Thompson: 2nd beam

Level 5 -

Joni O’Mahoney: 4th vault, 5th floor

Jessica Wills: 2nd beam, 3rd floor

Freya McNeary: 8th vault

Eva Fowler: 4th vault, 7th bars, 8th floor

Kelsey Johnston: 4th vault

Level 6 -

Eily-May Harkin: 7th bars

Aoise King: 6th floor

Gracie Curtis: 2nd floor

Level 7 -

Kyra Wills: 5th vault, 6th floor
