Enniskillen Town 11 Roe Valley 0
Enniskillen Town eased into the next round of the Junior Cup following an 11-0 win over Limavady outfit Roe Valley at St Michael’s on Saturday.
Cathal Beacom, Duwayne McManus and Frank Wallace all bagged hat-tricks while there was a brace for Johnny Hoy as the home side cruised to the victory.
“You can only beat what’s put in front of you, it was a very comfortable afternoon and you don’t get them too often,” said Town joint manager Rory Judge.
Judge was pleased to see his side among the goals while also keeping them out at the other end.
“To have three lads get a hat-trick and keep a clean sheet is nice.
“It is always good to get them at one end and keep them out at the other.
“We are through to the next round and that was all that mattered and hopefully we can get a home draw in the next round,” he added.
It was all one way traffic from the outset with only four minutes on the clock when they broke the deadlock. Brendan Lilley put Beacom through and he finished to make it 1-0.
Beacom quickly added a second before McManus nabbed his first of the day.
McManus had the chance to bag another but he blazed over the bar however Town did make it four when Wallace tapped in at the back post to leave it 4-0 at the break.
With the visitors beginning to tire in the second half, Town continued to pick them off.
Beacom completed his hat-trick early in the second half and McManus then hit a quickfire double to bring up his hat-trick too.
The home side rung the chances with Hoy, Sean Keenan and Codi Halligan coming in for Beacom, McManus and Michael Simpson.
The contest though continued in the same vein and Wallace made it 8-0 before Hoy got on the scoresheet, dusting himself down after he was upended in the box to convert from the spot.
Wallace was next to complete his hat-trick as he made it ten and Hoy then fired home the best goal of the day to leave it 11-0 at the final whistle.
It is back to league matters this weekend and Judge knows that they will face a much sterner test with an away game against Beragh.
“It is a tough game and we will have to be at our best but hopefully we will have a player or two back for it,” he added.
