Maguiresbridge 0-9 Lisnaskea Rovers
Lisnaskea Rovers put nine past Maguiresbridge at Castle Park on Saturday in a one-sided derby affair.
Seamie Quigley scored four while also missing a penalty in a dominant Rovers performance.
Maguiresbridge lie bottom of Division Two, four points behind Fintona Swifts having played two more games than the Tyrone side.
Lisnaskea manager Shane O’Donnell was pleased to see his Lisnaskea side take their fifth win in 10 league games as they stayed in fourth spot.
“Saturday, we just took over,” he said.
“James Connolly was outstanding at the back. He controlled things throughout, and it ended up a pretty comfortable victory in the end.
“It’s normally a dogged affair with a derby game but we just managed to get away from them with some well-taken goals.
“From start to finish, we were in total control, and we had great subs with Hayden Lynch, Enda McCabe, Ryan Hannigan and Jimmy Tormey.
“It’s good when you can look round to your bench and have those type of quality players and that’s without two other lads not there on Saturday.”
Lisnaskea face Orchard Farm this weekend after the latter picked up a huge 2-0 win away to Mountfield last weekend.
“It will be another difficult game against Orchard Farm. They have key men that we have to watch out for but we hopefully we can come out on top,” O’Donnell added.
Quigley missed a penalty for Rovers on Saturday afternoon after referee James Farrell pointed to the spot.
However, it didn’t take long for the floodgates to open soon after as Eoghan Curran grabbed the first goal with a well-executed strike from outside the box on 24 minutes.
Quigley snatched his first six minutes later as he finished from close range.
Shay Cadden added a third just before the break with another fantastic strike from the edge of the area.
Quigley made it 4-0 five minutes into the second half and completed his hat trick on the hour mark.
Hayden Lynch came off the bench to fire in a sixth Rovers goal.
Quigley rounded off his afternoon of scoring as he found the bottom corner inside the box for 7-0.
Brian McDermott took the pick of the goals when a bouncing ball dropped to the striker and he scissor-kicked it past Maguiresbridge goalkeeper Jamie Thompson for 8-0.
Gaby Jones added the final nail in the coffin late on to end a torrid afternoon for the ‘Bridge.
