The return of the Enniskillen 10K has already seen much excitement with organisers, Enniskillen Running Club, delighted with the response to their announcement of the return of the much loved event on Saturday, June 15. And they have now announced that Modern Tyres are on board as the main sponsors of the event.
The Enniskillen 10K was last held in 2019 and Enniskillen Running Club chairman, Ian Birney says that its absence was sorely felt in the local running calendar and the club are delighted to facilitate the return this summer.
‘Incredible’
“The response to the announcement alone has been incredible,” said Birney.
“It’s been five years since the last Enniskillen 10K and it’s left a sore gap in the running calendar, so we’re delighted get it up and running again - literally!”
The return will also come with a few tweaks which organisers hope will further enhance the event. The event will now go from castle to castle - starting at the iconic Enniskillen Castle and then on to the picturesque Castlecoole, and back. And there will be a brand new start time for the race which will now commence at 9.30am.
“We look forward to crowning the king and queen of our castle to castle event and we would like to thank Fermanagh & Omagh District Council for supporting it,” said Birney.
“This is a great event for the community and will generate a real buzz throughout the town. We are thrilled to be bringing this event back and hope to do so with a bang!
“We cannot express our gratitude to main sponsors Modern Tyres, the driving force behind the generous funds required to get it up and running again and further sponsors will be announced over the next few weeks.
“Our team is working hard behind the scenes to get the event organised for June 15 and we look forward to welcoming old and new faces. Keep an eye out for online registration which will be launched soon,” added Birney.
