Talented young boxer, Conall McGrath fighting for Ederney ABC, celebrated success on Sunday, February 18 by winning his second Ulster Title.
Conall showed great heart by overcoming the disappointment of missing out on a Mid Ulster title last year.
He showed resilience returning this year to defeat two very strong opponents at the Mid Ulster finals to gain a place at the Ulster finals.
In a challenging contest in the final, Conall remained focused and showed great strength by gaining a unanimous decision over his opponent in the Ulster Final.
His club mates Felim Monaghan and Charlie McNulty who also reached the Mid Ulster finals, both put up great performances but were unlucky on the day.
Conall is a dedicated sportsman who devotes a lot of time to playing an array of sports such as Gaelic football and hurling for his local club St. Joseph’s, Ederney, soccer with Tummery Athletic, as well as being greatly involved in county and St. Michael’s College teams.
He is now gearing up for the All-Ireland Championships in Roscommon with the support and guidance from his coaches, club mates and the Ederney community.
On March 9, Ederney ABC is hosting a Fight Night in the GAA club rooms in Aghyaran and is inviting all to come along and enjoy an exciting show of local boxing talent at what is guaranteed to be an eventful night.
