Fermanagh 1-07 Cavan 3-15
Fermanagh Minors rounded of their Ulster league campaign with defeat to a stronger Cavan side, 3-15 to 1-07.
Only four points separated the sides at half time but Cavan dominated proceedings in the second half to run out comfortable winners in the end.
It was Fermanagh's second defeat after an opening round loss to Donegal.
Cavan opened the scoring in a wet Canon Maguire Park in Derrygonnelly before scores from Daire Chapman hit a point from distance and this was followed up by a score from full back Conor Mulligan to leave a point between the sides midway through the half.
But Cavan responded with further scores to increase their lead but Fermanagh would see a period of dominance in which they would find the back of the net.
Dan O'Connor would fire over a point with the outside off his boot and Nathan Beattie also scored.
The O'Connor found himself close to goal and he fired the ball to the net to help Fermanagh into the lead.
But Cavan came back strongly and had a goal of their own through Nathan Quigley to leave it 1-08 to 1-04 at the break.
Any hopes Fermanagh had of getting back in to the game were dashed in the early stages of the second half as Cavan went on a scoring spree.
Finn Crowe palmed a dropping ball to the net while Fiachra Brady and Joshua Shehu tagged on points
Charlie Fallon would get Cavan's third goal shortly after to really put the game to bed.
For Fermanagh they failed to break down a strong Cavan defensive unit in the second half and had to settle for points from O'Connor and two from Chapman as their league campaign ended in defeat with focus now turning to the Ulster Minor Championship.
