Leona Maguire suffered defeat in the LPGA T-Mobile Match Play Final to World Number One Nelly Korda 4&3 in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
Korda took an early lead after coming out on top in the second hole of the contest and found birdies in the next three holes moving four up.
However, the Cavan native got back on the board when she made par on the ninth hole with Korda securing a bogey.
The Florida star bounced back with victory at the tenth and a birdie to follow at the 12th stretching her lead out further.
Maguire did hit back with victories in the next two holes after grabbing birdies but Korda rounded off the win at the 15th.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Maguire said it was a disappointing finish to the week adding:
"To lead the stroke play around this golf course by three at the end of the three days was something I can take a lot of positives from and be very proud of.
"Yeah, Nelly is the best player in the world for a reason. She brought her 'A' game today and mine wasn't good enough. Fair play to her for winning again this week."
Maguire earned her spot in Sunday’s final with a win against Thailand's Moriya Jutanugarn at the quarter-final stage before defeating South Korea's Sei Young Kim in the semis.
