The IFA Disciplinary Committee are due to meet on Wednesday, April 24 to consider a protest lodged by Tummery Athletic following their fonaCAB Irish Junuior Cup semi-final defeat to Enniskillen Rangers.
Tummery lodged a protest following the semi-final defeat after it emerged Enniskillen Rangers had a suspended player in attendance at Ferney Park.
Jordan McClure was reportedly in Enniskillen Rangers' match preparations despite being suspended for the game following his dismissal the week before.
Rangers defeated Tummery 3-1 on the night with three goals in the opening half an hour in Ballinamallard.
Article 15.9, for a standard suspension, in the IFA disciplinary code, states: "A standard suspension is a ban on taking part in a match with a player or official not permitted to enter the dressing room area, the player’s tunnel, the technical area, the substitute’s bench, the area immediately surrounding the field of play or the playing surface at any match played."
Tummery player Kevin McAleer was also suspended for the game but Athletic say he spent the 90 minutes watching from the stands in Ballinamallard.
Under article 22.1, the code states: "If any player participates in a match whilst being suspended or if any player breaches the terms of his suspension his club will be sanctioned with a minimum fine of £600 (imposed on Senior teams), £450 (imposed on Intermediate teams) and £350 (imposed on Junior teams). Additionally, the Club will forfeit the match by the score 3-0."
Tummery's initial protest was heard by the Irish FA’s Junior and Youth Cup Committee but they threw the protest out and the IFA's disciplinary committee has since looked at it.
The IFA Disciplinary Committee met last week, and have issued a Notice of Complaint for the alleged breach of Article 22.1.
The matter is due to be heard on Wednesday, April 24. This is just a day before the sides meet in the semi-final of the Mulhern Cup.
With possible appeals to follow, it may result in the final, due to be played on May 6, being pushed back with Newry side, Cleary Celtic awaiting one of the two Fermanagh and Western sides in the final.
