Coleraine 2-2 Ballinamallard United
Ballinamallard U15s drew 2-2 with Coleraine in Cookstown on Saturday in another National League meeting between the sides.
It was the fourth time the sides faced each other this season and they brought their tally up to two draws and a win each after Saturday’s result.
After taking an early lead, the Mallards found themselves 2-1 down and it took a free kick from Jay Largo-Elis in the closing moments to snatch a draw in the end.
It took only a few minutes for Ballinamallard to take the lead as Jack Fulton stayed calm to finish past the Coleraine goalkeeper after Oliver Robertson’s through ball.
Largo-Elis almost made it two after a well-worked move with Joshua Humes, but his shot was blocked.
Coleraine tied the game after 15 minutes with a brilliant shot into the top corner from outside the box and it was the same man Pollock, from range again, to make it 2-1 just before halftime.
There were chances for both sides in the opening half, but Coleraine took a one-goal lead in at the break.
Largo-Elis threatened an equaliser with some silky dribbling that forced some last-ditch defending in the second half.
Ballinamallard pushed for a leveller in the latter stages and their hard work eventually paid off as a fantastic free kick by Largo-Elis found the net with just six minutes to go.
Fulton went close shortly after, but the game ended in a draw with United now facing Greenisland in the National League Plate Semi Final next.
