There was success for the junior members of Enniskillen Royal Boat Club (ERBC) as they made the long trip to the River Shannon at the Limerick regatta at the weekend.
Thankfully, with Storm Kathleen eventually passing the weekend before, it was a calm and warm afternoon for action north of Limerick City.
The club were also involved in the closest race of the day in the Women’s J13 quad when the verdict was 6 inches to Castleconnell with St Michaels coming in third.
The J13 squad came out victorious against St. Joseph's, Galway, St. Michael's, Limerick and Castleconnell.
Josh Allen was stroke followed by Louis McIvor, Noah Corrigan, Levi Thompson and cox Grace Collins.
This inspired the Girls J15 quad who then came out on top over two crews from Carrick on Shannon as Brooke Davis, Darcy Balfour, Chloe Simmons, Grace Collins and Ollie Powell sailed to another win.
It will be a quick turnaround for the boat club with events at Skibbereen, Portadown and Neptune coming up shortly.
There was also joy for Acorn Cassidy at the weekend, at the GB trials in England, as she came second in the trials for Junior representation in Munich in two weeks and possibly the World Junior championships later in the season.
