St. Aidan’s Tomás Cathcart scored 1-03 as he captained his school teammates to more glory in Ulster over Largy College, Clones.
The youngster grabbed the Derrylin school's first two scores of the contest as he drove past a number of Largy players to find the net with just a few minutes played on Thursday before setting up Ronan Fitzpatrick for the final goal of the contest late on after again brushing off a couple of challenges.
“Ah it feels great you know, two in the same year, it’s class for the school,” Cathcart said after adding another couple of scores in the second half.
“I had to run at them. I knew if I ran at them I could cause damage, I did that and thankfully the two goals came from that.
"We were very anxious coming out in the second half but Thomas Fitzpatrick, our keeper, kept us in it, [a] class keeper, great save there so we’re thankful for him.”
Just like his principal, Pat McTeggart and teacher, Richie O'Callaghan, Cathcart is eyeing more silverware in the months to follow with still another year left at this age group.
“Hopefully next year, we have one competition so hopefully we can go and win that in our final year.”
