The IFA have confirmed that Enniskillen Rangers have appealed the decision for them to forfeit their Junior Cup semi-final tie with Tummery Athletic.
Rangers were found guilty of breaching rules by the disciplinary committee of the competition when it was deemed that suspended player Jordan McClure took part in their preparations at Ferney Park ahead of the cup tie against Tummery.
Rangers went on to win the game 3-1 but last week’s ruling means they will now forfeit the game 3-0 and Tummery will advance through to play Cleary Celtic in the 2024 Junior Cup final.
The two Fermanagh and Western sides met again at Ferney Park last Wednesday in the Mulhern Cup semi-final, just a day after Rangers were told they were out of the competition.
Tummery went on to win on penalties after a 1-1 draw following a late equaliser from Eoin McManus in extra-time from the penalty spot.
The Appeals Committee are yet to decide a date to discuss the Rangers’ appeal.
