Brendan Dolan came out victorious in the Players Championship 10 in Hildesheim to pick up his first ranking title win in almost two years.

The Belcoo native saw off Swedish star Jeffrey de Graaf on Tuesday with an 8-4 win averaging a score of 98.

Dolan pocketed a cool £15,000 from the tournament at Halle 39 over a decade on from his first-ever PDC win.

He fought off competition from Robert Grundy, Franz Roetzsch, two-time world champion Peter Wright, Dom Taylor, Daryl Gurney and Graham Hall at the semi-final stage before a showdown with the Swedish ace to seal his first tournament win since 2022.

The win takes the 50-year-old to within touching distance of qualification for the Betfred World Matchplay in July.

Speaking to PDC after the win, Dolan said: “Absolutely brilliant because all I have been thinking of, for the last months, is the World Matchplay, trying to get in.

"I know I’m not necessarily guaranteed but I’m more or less at the minute with that. That’s what I was striving for. The World Matchplay Grand Prix.”
