A fifth Junior Cup final awaits Enniskillen Rangers since the turn of the century as Mickey Kerr aims to win the coveted trophy for a fourth time in his tenure as manager.

After advancing straight into the second round of the competition following a first-round bye, Rangers came up against FC Moylena in an 8-0 thrashing at The Ball Range with braces from Jordan McClure, Jason Keenan and Mark Cutler while Nathan Khan and Joel Byrne also found the net as they went 6-0 up before the halftime whistle.

Camlough Rovers was up next for Kerr’s team with Keenan giving them a 12th-minute lead over the Newry side. Mark Cutler added a penalty 10 minutes after halftime before Jordan McClure finished off the game in injury time to round up a 3-0 win.

The goals and clean sheets continued to flow for Rangers in round four as they put six past All Saints OB.

Mark Cutler netted four times while also missing a penalty in a routine win at home with Joel Byrne and Jake Browne adding a fifth and sixth goal in the final 25 minutes.

They would go on to record their best result yet in round five with an emphatic 10-0 demolition of Lurgan Town Reserves with Cutler again at the centre of the action grabbing five of the 10 goals with solo strikes coming via Keenan, Byrne, Jamie Robinson, McClure and Stuart Rainey in a resounding win at The Ball Range.

The quarter-final would host an All-Fermanagh draw between Rangers and Lisbellaw United at Drumad.

Eoin McManus gave Rangers the lead as he headed home from a Khan corner but United would draw themselves level just before the hour mark when Philip Beacom poked home from close range after a free-kick into the area.

It was that man Cutler again who would provide the winner when Mark White found him in the box and the midfielder took one touch before finding the net.

Tummery Athletic awaited Rangers in a semi-final tie at Ferney Park under the lights but a blistering opening half an hour saw the Mercer League leaders rip-roar into a 3-0 lead thanks to a Khan strike from range, that was followed by a Cutler goal and a looping effort from Byrne.

Paudi Dillon pulled a goal back for Tummery to make it 3-1.

After a long wait of appeals, and initially being thrown out of the final over suspended player Jordan McClure’s pre-match involvement in the semi-final, Rangers’ place against Cleary Celtic in Dungannon would eventually be confirmed as they go searching for a fifth Junior Cup in the club’s history.
