Ciaran Smith lifted the Mercer League title for the first time as captain alongside his Enniskillen Rangers teammates this week.
The 27-year-old picked up his fourth Junior Cup medal on Friday as the celebrations continued into Tuesday night with a hard-fought win over rivals Tummery Athletic.
“Yeah great,” Smith said after lifting the trophy. “Quick turnaround from Friday but just delighted to get another one over the line.
"You knew playing against Tummery, it was always going to take a goal or two to win the game but just delighted like. All the hard work this year has paid off.”
A dogged affair with limited chances for either side ended 1-0 with a bit of fortune going Rangers’ way for the deciding goal as they secured a third win of the season over Athletic.
“It was scrappy,” Smith added. “It was probably like we had a bit of a hangover from Friday night in the first half.
"But I think we started to play well in the first 15-20 minutes of the second half and then got the goal from it. Tummery kind of came at us for the last 20-25 minutes and we just held on, so just delighted.”
Rangers lost just three league games in the campaign pipping Tummery by three points on the final day.
Their only other loss this season came at the hands of Tyrone team via a penalty shootout in the Mulhern Cup semi-final at Ferney Park.
When asked why it’s been such a successful year, Smith responded: “Probably a few new signings, and we probably just committed more as a team overall.
"We’re out training every Tuesday and Thursday, and even Saturdays. Not many boys missed any training sessions or games. We just made the commitment and it pays off.”
