Former Lisnaskea Rovers boss Shane O’Donnell has joined Orchard Farm for the 2024/25 Fermanagh and Western season and is set to make Seamie Quigley his first signing for the club.

Quigley made the switch from Orchard Farm to Lisnaskea last season but is set to reunite with O’Donnell and brother Sean Quigley in Division Two next season.

O’Donnell will join Omagh native Stephen Marron as joint-managers in the dug-out next campaign.

“There’s a good enough structure there, you just need to add a few players in, you know,” O’Donnell said on the move as he confirmed Quigley was a "done deal".

“You need to build on last year with what they had. It’ll not be easy, it’s a strong division. It’s going to be very competitive.

"You have the three relegated teams from Division One and Ballinamallard (United Reserves) and Newtownstewart (United) came up.”

After a rocky start to last season, Orchard Farm found their feet to win four out of five games from the end of December into January to steer them to safety and also secured a first-ever Mulhern Cup quarter-final appearance, eventually losing to Augher Stars.

Magheraveely, Enniskillen Athletic and Castlederg United will join Division Two after relegation from the Mercer League in what will be a competitive year of football next season.

O’Donnell added that Gaelic football commitments played a part in his decision to step down as Lisnaskea Rovers manager at the end of last season.

“You see at the start of the season what it’s like you are struggling to get numbers out and I didn’t want to go through that again,” he said.

“It’s difficult with the start of the championship, struggling to get men out. The league is nearly over by the time you get a settled team out.”

Marrow has a wealth of experience in the Fermanagh and Western having been involved with Dunbreen Rovers last term.
