Lisnaskea 4-18 Aghadrumsee 1-07

Lisnaskea’s hot form in front of goal returned on Sunday as they hit another four goals at home to Aghadrumsee.

Coa are the only team to not concede a goal against John Reihill’s side this year but that didn’t stop them from scoring 0-16 and they went even better on Sunday, hitting 4-18 to remain at the top of Division 2.

Manager Reihill said after the game: “It was a tight game in the first-half, we scored a couple of very good points and then, in the second half, it was an improved performance from ourselves and we were able to get a number of early goals which deflated Aghadrumsee.

"I was pleased with our second half performance after a laboured first-half showing.”

After pushing Lisnaskea close in the first-half, the game eventually got away from Jason O’Connor’s visiting side despite finding the net in the second half themselves.

“Look the first half we played really well and I was very happy with our shape and our work rate and tenacious attitude to turn the ball over,” O’Connor commented.

“We kicked three short into the keeper's hands and two wide and we gifted Lisnaskea three points from our own sloppy play so from maybe being in a position to go in level or ahead we went in four points down.

"The wheels really fell off after that first goal and it was totally one-sided no point dressing it up.

"The lads know what I expect and they know we let ourselves down in the second half but like I’ve always said they are a great bunch of lads and we will bounce back from this. I have no doubt with the character of lads we have.”

The opening 30 minutes at Emmets Park saw a close contest between the sides as Joe McDade landed two impressive scores with points via Hayden Lynch and Conor Clarke edging the home side in front.

Points from Damien McCarville, Chrissy Flanagan and Aodhan Durnien saw the teams go into halftime at 0-08 to 0-04.

Damian Og Kelly’s ball inside to Lynch was caught which then allowed Ruairí McGribben to fist across goal for Joe McDade to palm home early in the second half.

The second came shortly after when McDade flicked on Sean Keenan’s ball and Kelly finished from close range.

Two more goals from Niall and Sean Keenan put the home side in complete control.

Aghadrumsee found a goal of their own through Durnien as he palmed home from Enda McCabe’s pass after a good team move.

They also added points through Daniel Crudden, Domhnall Boyle and John Joe Strain but it ended up a one-sided affair.
