Coa 1-05 Aghadrumsee 2-08
Aghadrumsee made it two wins to move into seventh in Division Two after victories at home to Maguiresbridge and then away to Coa.
A rampant win over the St. Mary’s side on Friday was followed by a six-point victory against Coa on Tuesday with the return of Eddie Courtney giving them a huge boost and leaving manager Jason O’Connor pleased with his side.
"Look it's great to get two wins on the bounce but we park that up now and won't be getting carried away at all by it,” he said.
“There is still a lot of improvement to be done and the lads know that they have all been working seriously hard at training and buying into what myself and Noel are trying to implement and that's all I can ask of them, there is going to be further tests ahead which we are looking towards now and see where we are in a few weeks.”
2-08 to 1-05 was the final scoreline in Coa as Aodhan Durnien and Daniel Crudden bagged goals with both adding points alongside Tommy O’Hara, James Flanagan, Aidan Bannon and three from Eddie Courtney who made his return from injury on Friday.
Courtney had a hand in both goals, after 20 minutes, as he dispossessed his man and allowed Durnien to square the ball to Daniel Crudden who kicked the ball into an empty net.
Midway into the second half, Courtney beat a couple of O’Dwyers defenders and fed Durnien who rounded the goalkeeper and finished.
Robbie McKenna found the net for Coa with their other points coming from Caoilte Farry (2), Ben Thompson (2) and Darragh Murphy.
Coa suffered a 1-12 to 0-13 loss at home to Newtownbutler on Friday night as Caoilte Farry led their scoring with an impressive seven points while Oisin Farry hit two points along with single scores by Ben Thompson, Lee McQuade, Jason Farry and Darragh Murphy.
Looking back on the two games, Coa player/manager Gary Lynch said: “Against Newtown’ we played really well best performance in the league so far.
"We got caught in the 60th minute, Newtown’ scored a goal and stole it.
"I felt we were the better team and deserved the win. Tonight (Tuesday), we were extremely poor.
"Both teams set up very defensively and Aghadrumsee were much better going forward, we lacked real energy and were out of ideas, and they deserved the win.”
Two quickfire goals from Aghadrumsee’s Daniel Crudden saw them take the lead against Maguiresbridge on Friday night as he fired in a shot at the near post and watched his second effort ping off the crossbar and bounce into the roof of the net.
They would hold onto that lead with the St. Mary’s side playing most of the contest with 14 men after Dwayne Rice saw red midway into the opening half.
The lively Tommy O’Hara ended the game with 1-03 with Caolan Adair scoring 1-02 as Courtney also added four points, with a final scoreline of 4-15 to 3-07.
