Fermanagh’s Casey Howe played a key role as Northern Ireland sealed a second-place finish in Group B3 of their Euro qualifying group.
Back-to-back 2-0 wins over Malta, last Friday, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Tuesday evening, confirmed them as group runners-up behind Portugal.
Northern Ireland will now await to find out their play-off opponents in tomorrow’s draw in Switzerland.
A second-place finish means Tanya Oxtoby’s side are seeded in the draw meaning they will avoid playing any teams that topped their group in League B.
They will either play Türkiye, Croatia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia or Azerbaijan in a home-and-away tie.
All of those teams finished third in their League B group apart from Azerbaijan, who were the best fourth-ranked team.
Howe assisted teammate Keri Halliday on Tuesday as she opened the at Windsor Park two minutes after halftime.
Forward Lauren Wade added a second goal with just over 20 minutes to go as the win saw Northern Ireland finish three points ahead of the Bosnians.
28 teams from League A, B and C will compete for the final seven places at the Women’s European Championships in 2025.
