Belnaleck 0-09 Enniskillen Gaels 0-10

Just one point separated Enniskillen Gaels and Belnaleck last weekend as Simon Bradley’s side maintained their unbeaten league campaign seven games in.

The Enniskillen side look set for a return to the Division One final with six wins and one draw even without a handful of key players last Wednesday.

The Gaels led 0-10 to 0-04 at one stage but Daniel Kille’s side clawed back points to close the gap, however, the away side held on this time, after conceding two late points to draw with Kinawley last time out.

Speaking on the result, manager Bradley said: “Happy to get the two points, which keeps us in the hunt for the league final.

"The game provided us with another opportunity to look at different players and we were happy with that. Bit disappointed that we didn't kick on when 10-4 up. But in the end, I felt we just about deserved it.”

Roslea is up next for Enniskillen, who will be on a high following a late goal against Kinawley last Thursday to pick up their first win.

“Roslea that will be as always a difficult game,” Bradley added.

“Roslea's league position doesn't reflect their ability they have had a few very close games, and they always perform well when they come to Brewster, so, we will be taking nothing for granted.”

Bryan Owens’ early score was quickly cancelled out by a Ross Bogue point. Jamie Steele then responded to Darragh McGurn’s point nine minutes into the game as the hosts then took a two-point lead through two good kicks from Owens.

Belnaleck then went just under 30 minutes without a point as the Gaels levelled before pushing out in front before halftime.

Conor McShea and Steele tied it with a John Reihill point from play making it 0-05 to 0-04 after 25 minutes.

Two late points in the half from Conor Watson and Conall Quinn gave their side a 0-07 to 0-04 lead at halftime.

A Ross Bogue point five minutes into the second half stretched the lead further with Steele adding two more as he brought his tally to 0-04.

The visitors would then have a dry spell of their own as they didn’t score for the final 20 minutes of the match.

Lee Cullen and Darragh McGurn (2) closed the gap to two points with James Speight and Owens adding late on but the Gaels held on for the win.
