And in what seemed like no time at all the new season of Fermanagh and Western football looms large with the teams in all three divisions getting back into competitive action on Saturday.
In Division One, another tight and tense campaign is expected with several teams believing they can challenge for the Mercer Cup.
Having brought an end to Tummery Athletic's league dominance last season, all eyes will be on Enniskillen Rangers and if they can repeat the trick and make it a second consecutive league title in the 2024/25 season.
It was a dramatic end to the season as it came down to the last game, against Tummery, as Mickey Kerr's side came out on the right side of a 1-0 victory to secure a league and Irish Junior Cup double.
And Kerr knows that with the mantle of being champions, teams will be targeting a scalp when they take on Rangers.
"100 per cent. When we weren’t winning the league any time you played the league winners there's something extra within you playing the champions," he said.
"That target is on our backs and we know teams are going to raise it against us. They always do against Rangers.
"It's part and parcel of being the champions when you are going to defend your title so it’s a challenge for the lads."
One of those teams that Kerr believes could challenge his side is Enniskillen Town.
Under new manager, Ryan Hanna, Kerr believes they will be "strong and hard to beat".
Rangers took on Tummery in the Kennedy Cup last Friday and while they were depleted
Hanna had a hugely successful time with Tummery where he led them to three Mercer titles on the bounce.
Returning to his boyhood club as their new player/manager, Hanna wants to be competitive in all competitions but is also looking at improving the players coming into the senior set up.
"That’s the aim and as part of that, improve players as players and people, and bring through youth. There’s a really good U17 team there, it’s about trying to breed some of those lads through, to strengthen that link with the youth and the great work that’s going on there, and get them into the senior set up whether that’s reserves or first team. That’s all really important and just getting the culture of the club to where we want it.
"Fighting again on all fronts and being competitive. That’s the aim."
Town have a cup already won after they beat Lisbellaw United in the Coffey Cup.
Hanna's old club, Tummery will be a team to watch as they begin life under Kevy McAleer.
A bad injury put an end to playing this season but he, along with the assistance of another Tummery stalwart Aidy McCaffrey, will be hoping to bring the club back to the top of Division One.
"Moving into management was always something I wanted to do but maybe not just as soon as I still saw myself playing for a few more years, but with my ACL injury and Ryan moving back to Town an opportunity came up that I couldn’t turn down.
"Tummery is a fantastic club, the players, supporters and the whole community are second to none. You don’t actually realise how good the club is until you are in it.
"I like to try and do things the right way and that goes for playing football. I feel I have been around long enough to have my opinions heard and I have the respect of all the players, they get what I’m trying to do and are buying into it completely and I can’t ask for anymore than that."
NFC Kesh's bid for a first-ever Division One league title faltered towards the end of the season but Ryan Campbell's side.
Kyle McCleery's Lisbellaw made a marked improvement last season and they will be hoping to continue that growth this season.
Dergview Reserves and Killen Rangers will also be hoping to be competitive and both teams have the quality to make a push with several signing strengthening their hand.
Dergview boss, Andrew Sproule, is hoping the youth coming through in his side will step up in Division One.
While Strathroy Harps and Beragh Swifts will also be looking at the upper end of the table.
Last season, Irvinestown Wanderers eventually pulled away from the relegation places and ensured safety in Division One.
It will be interesting to see can they build on that while newly promoted Ardstraw and Augher Stars will be looking at making a name for themselves in the top division.
Ardstraw manager Andy Patterson is bullish about his side's prospects: "We will hold our own and will fear no team going into this challenging new season which the whole club is looking forward to."
While it is all to play for what we do know is that there will be plenty of drama at the top and bottom of the division.
