August 23–25 will see the J24 Irish National Championship returning to Fermanagh. This event will be hosted by Lough Erne Yacht Club, based at Goblusk Bay, Killadeas.
Boats from various clubs in Ireland, along with their crews, will travel to Lough Erne Yacht Club next Thursday to participate in this three-day event. Entries include boats from as far away as Cork, with a large contingent coming from neighbouring Sligo. The event will also feature several U25 teams.
Thursday, August 22, will see the final boats arriving at Lough Erne Yacht Club, followed by a day of measuring, hoisting masts, careful rig tweaking, and much cleaning and polishing. This will be followed by a weekend of exciting racing on the water and plenty of fun and entertainment ashore.
There will be a gala dinner on Saturday evening, followed by a performance from the fabulous Drunkin' Lullabies band. If you happen to be in Castle Archdale or along the Belleek Road over these three days, depending on the wind direction, you may get a good view of the racing.
This prestigious event is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and Hidden Hearing.
The club is also indebted to their many club members who volunteer to help on and off the water and they look forward to showcasing beautiful Lough Erne and the surrounding area to our many sailing visitors and their families over this weekend.
