This year’s two league champions will kick off championship action in Fermanagh as Enniskillen Gaels host Teemore at Brewster Park on Friday.

Both teams tasted glory earlier this month at the same venue as Simon Bradley’s side defeated Derrygonnelly in the Division One final and less than 24 hours later Tony Collins’ Teemore team saw off Irvinestown in the Division Two decider.

The Shamrocks will go all out to make a winning start on their return to the Senior Championship, but it will be a tall order against an Enniskillen side who haven’t lost a game since May 10.

It will be a local derby to kick things off elsewhere in Group A as Belnaleck make the trip to Kinawley.

Dom Corrigan’s side bested their neighbours during the league with a single point between the teams when they played in July.

On that same weekend, Erne Gaels defeated Ederney 0-16 to 1-05 with those two meeting in their first game in Belleek.

Both will be stronger since that meeting. Derrygonnelly host Devenish at Canon Maguire Park as the Garrison side aim to close the 13-point gap when the teams last met in the penultimate league fixture at St Mary’s Park.

In Group A of the Intermediate Championship, Derrylin and St Pat’s will play on Saturday, for the first time this year, they played in last year’s group where Derrylin won 4-10 to 0-07.

Irvinestown ended Lisnaskea’s hopes of promotion with a one-point win at Emmet Park in July.

This time the Emmets will be on the road as they go to St Molaise’s Park on Saturday for a tricky challenge against a thriving team on the rise.

In Group B, Belcoo and Maguiresbridge face a repeat of their 2022 championship opener.

The St Mary’s side will again make the trip to MacNean Park in an early Sunday throw-in.

The teams will be hoping for improved weather conditions from that game two years ago, with blustery winds and a heavy downpour playing it's part as the O’Rahilly’s eventually recorded a seven-point win.

Roslea and Tempo face off at 6pm on Sunday with both teams coming off a disappointing end to their league games as Roslea were relegated and Tempo missed out on promotion.

The Junior Championship teams will have to wait another two weeks to get their campaigns going.

It will be an intriguing encounter in both quarter-final fixtures as Aghadrumsee play Newtownbutler and Brookeborough face Coa.
