Roslea 0-09 Tempo 1-06
There was nothing to separate Roslea and Tempo in their Intermediate Championship Group A game.
Tempo finished the match with 13 players but battled to lead heading into injury time only for Roslea to hit an equaliser with the last kick of the game.
It took over two minutes for the first score with Oisin Jackson with a fine point for Tempo but it took a while before the next score.
It took all of 10 minutes for the next score but it was to be the only goal of the game.
Eunan McCann was allowed to travel from his own half well into Roslea territory and he launched a ball in towards Oisin Murphy.
Sean Quigley, who was in goals for Roslea, came out to punch away and was caught out of goals.
The ball fell to Ben Warnock who took a shot from 35 yards out and it fell below the crossbar and into the net despite the efforts of Martin Beggan.
This was followed by a Warnock free and it was 1-02 to no score with 14 minutes played and Tempo were well on top.
It took 19 minutes for Roslea’s first score and it was a fine strike from Conor Mulligan from a free.
A clumsy challenge from Keelan Kelly on John Connolly allowed Adam Treanor to convert an easy free for Roslea as the home side started to get back into the game as they put pressure on Tempo’s kickouts.
With three minutes of the half remaining, Micheal Flanagan was played in by Treanor and he tapped over to cut the gap further as Tempo’s score drought continued.
And this was followed by a fine Shane Lynch score from the left to make it 0-04 to 1-02.
A foul by Patrick Fee on Niall Cosgrove allowed Lynch to level the game at the break.
Straight from the kickout Tempo were dealt a blow as Tiarnan Bogue was shown a straight red car for a strike on Shane McAleer following a super catch.
14-man Tempo started the half brightly with a Warnock free after Aidan Breen did well to keep possession.
But Lynch responded with another super score for Roslea to level it again.
A Quigley free put Roslea in the lead for the first time as they controlled matters and Tempo struggled to make any inroads going forward.
A good Niall McElroy score drew matters level once more with 11 minutes of the second half played.
From the restart, a poor Roslea short kickout by Quigley allowed Oisin Murphy to pounce and point to put Tempo back in front.
But Quigley made amends with a brilliant free kick from near the left sideline to draw the game with just under 15 minutes left.
With nine minutes to play the sporadic second-half scoring continued as Tempo kept their composure to put Aidan Breen in space and he curled over.
If Tempo were hoping to hold on to their lead they were dealt another blow when Ryan Ingram received his marching orders following discussions between referee Eoin Murphy and linesman Karol Bradshaw.
And they almost held on, they just could not, but they were close.
Eventually, the pressure to hold possession told and Roslea regained possession and two accurate kick passes allowed Niall Cosgrove to draw the match with 30 seconds to play and that was how the game finished.
Speaking after the game, Tempo joint-manager, Ryan Cassidy said: “It was a really competitive championship game.
“Both teams over the hour had their patches and probably on the balance of play a draw was a fair result.
“We’ve a quick turnaround now to our next game which will be another stern test in Belcoo.”
