Belnaleck 0-13 Enniskillen Gaels 5-11
Three late goals put a shine on this result for Enniskillen Gaels who made it two wins from two under the Fermanagh sun last Saturday evening.
The Gaels backed up their opening-day win against Teemore with this high-scoring result but it was a lot tighter with Belnaleck training by just three points midway through the second-half.
It was a bright start from the Gaels in perfect playing conditions in Belnaleck as John Reihill (2) and Ethan Beresford's mark made it 0-03 to no score after seven minutes.
The Leckers finally got off the mark a minute later through a Darragh McGurn free and this was followed by a fine score from Ciaran McBrien who won the ball and fired over on the turn.
Richie O'Callaghan and Kane Connor swapped scores with Conor Love then pointing after he played a quick 1-2 from a sideline ball.
With 10 minutes of the half remaining, Enniskillen took firm control of affairs.
Johnny Cassidy drove at the Belnaleck defence and fed Conor McShea who took on James Speight before firing past Ryan McNulty.
McGurn responded with a score from distance but the Gaels went up the field and got their second goal.
Some smart play from Paddy Reihill who flicked the ball over a defender and regathered before he squared for his brother John to palm home and leave it 2-05 to 0-04 at the interval.
Belnaleck needed a strong start to the second-half, and they got it hitting three points in a row.
Garvan Quigley scored a brilliant free which was followed by a Speight point and McGurn free.
They also had sight of goal but Conall Quinn made a fine block to prevent the goal.
Beresford got Enniskillen up and running after a good ball from Callum Jones to make it 2-05 to 0-07 after 35 minutes.
Then Josh Horan came up the field and the Belnaleck defence opened up in front of him to allow him to point.
Che Cullen responded with a fine score and they almost found the net again. A good ball across the goal from McBrien was met by McGurn who could only palm the ball wide.
Jones hit a good score for Enniskillen in the 40th minute to leave two goals between the sides and when John Reihill added a free it looked as if Enniskillen were beginning to see the game out.
But Belnaleck fought back scoring four points on the bounce.
Che Cullen with another big score alongside two fine strikes from Quigley and one from McGurn left it 2-09 to 0-12 with less than 10 minutes to play.
Love found the target for Enniskillen for the first time in 10 minutes to stop Belnaleck's momentum and when Jones converted a free on 58 minutes it was a five-point game.
Enniskillen had three final attacks over the closing minutes and found the net with all three to put a shine on the scoreline.
Cody Halligan and Eoin Beacom combined to put Cassidy through to score. Jack Tierney palmed in at the back post from a Halligan pass before Cassidy once again went through and buried the ball to the net as Belnaleck could only muster a consolation point from McGurn.
The final round of games in this group will see Enniskillen and Kinawley battle for top spot while Belnaleck will face Teemore in a bid to take the final quarter-final place in two weeks.
