Lisnaskea 8-22 St. Pat’s, Donagh 1-07.

It was all about the score difference as a rampant Lisnaskea went through hapless 13-man St. Pat’s, Donagh like a German Panzar tank on tour at a wet and miserable Teemore.

For with their close group rivals Irvinestown dispatching Derrylin by 4-13 to 1-06, a margin of 16-points, John Reihill’s men were determined to make sure they finished ahead on scoring average.

That, they certainly did with a jaw-dropping 36-point win which guarantees them an automatic semi-final slot in three weeks.

In context, the losers were pretty decimated, and it got even worse for them when they lost Oisin Boyle and Ryan McElroy to red cards in each half.

But this was still a most impressive display by a well-drilled ‘Skea who have been surging through the group stage in a most impressive fashion.

Unsurprisingly, Skea had stars with brothers Joe and Justy McDade very prominent throughout along with Hayden Lynch, Damien Óg Kelly and Sean Keenan.

For a badly outgunned St Pat’s, dual star Jimmy Tormey and Dara Foster provided moments of inspiration to a badly beaten team.

The winners played into a gale-force wind in the opening half and were well worth their half-time lead of 1-09 to 0-04.

Jimmy Tormey opened the scoring for the Donagh men but that was nearly as good as it got as a much sharper ‘Skea side responded rapidly through Hayden Lynch and Justy McDade before Sean Keenan notched their first goal.

Despite playing into the breeze it was all ‘Skea as the McDade’s, Lynch and Damian Óg Kelly pushed them into a 1-07 to 0-02 lead.

Tormey and Patrick Treacy were on target for Donagh with Lynch closing the scoring of the half to leave Skea in front by eight points at half-time.

Turning over with the big wind 'Skea hit St. Pat’s with an avalanche of points and goals in a most one-sided second-half.

Justy McDade and a well-converted Lynch penalty put John Reihill’s men into a 3-09 to 0-04 lead just five minutes into the new half.

The McDade’s tacked on more points while Lynch also bagged another goal as the rout continued.

It was clear that ‘Skea were intent on putting up a massive tally and they did just that with more goals from Joe McDade, Mark Kelly and the deadly Lynch.

St. Pat’s lost McElroy to a red card and had points from Tormey and Eoghan Curran while Ciaran Fitzpatrick hit a late goal.

But they were only tokens as ‘Skea legend Mark Little (43) also found net as the rain fell like razorblades and it was a blessed relief for all when referee Shane Connolly blew for the final whistle.

‘Skea look like men on a mission and they are serious contenders for silverware this season.

For St. Pat’s it looks like they could have a battle to keep out of Junior football for next season.
