Erne Olympic rowing heroes Ross Corrigan and Nathan Timoney excited youngsters at St Michael’s School on Tuesday with a visit to the school.
The pair spoke to enthralled students about their experience of performing in Paris and how they made it to the top of their game, with Ross a former St Michael’s student.
The rowing partners also answered questions and gave tips and advice on rowing technique with students showing off their skills on the school’s rowing machine equipment.
They were also joined by Fermanagh rowing Olympians Derek Holland and Iain Kennedy. St Michael’s physical education teacher Peter Teague said his pupils were left inspired by the visit of the two lads.
“It was absolutely fantastic to have our past pupil Ross Corrigan and his Olympic partner Nathan Timoney, two local heroes, visit St. Michael’s College this week, bringing excitement and inspiration to students across the community,” he said.
“Their stories of dedication, perseverance, and achievement resonated with the students, encouraging them to dream big and work hard toward their goals.
"Ross and Nathan’s visit not only sparked interest in sports but also emphasised the importance of resilience and determination in all aspects of life.
"It was a day of motivation, and these Irish Olympians left a lasting impact on the future generation.”
