Enniskillen Athletic 2-9 Dundela Reserves
Dundela Reserves put nine past Enniskillen Athletic at the Lakeland Forum on Saturday as the Belfast side cruised into the third round of the Junior Cup.
The away side were 4-0 up before the 20-minute mark as striker Finlay Hoey netted an eight-minute hat-trick.
A youthful Dundela side started on the front foot playing the ball around the back and looking comfortable in possession, however, it was a corner that saw them grab the opener as it was swung in before being bundled over the line by defender Lewis McCullough.
Less than two minutes later and it was 2-0 as Hoey, who looked to be going for a cross from the right-hand side of the box, watched his effort arrow into the far corner.
There was no doubt about his second goal as he picked up the ball on the edge of the box and rocketed it into the roof of the net for 3-0.
He completed his hat-trick as Dundela made use of their pace upfront with a ball in behind and the same man found the bottom corner with a clinical finish.
Athletic eventually managed to get a foothold in the game and put the Dundela back four under some pressure with a high press.
The hosts pulled one back just after the half-hour when Dermot Lewsley’s long free kick into the box was flicked on and into the net by Fionn Nolan.
However, it was 5-1 at halftime as Adam Toner bent his free kick around the wall, just outside the box, into the bottom right corner.
There was no let-up in the second half as Dundela found a sixth two minutes into the half when a move down the wing saw the ball pulled back across the box for Ben Andrew to slide home.
Carter Campbell added another until Athletic bagged a second goal as a corner was flicked into the air and Matty McAleer headed into the roof of the net at the back post.
The same two players that opened the game’s scoring concluded it as Hoey and Lewis rounded off a one-sided affair that ended Athletic’s run in this year’s competition.
