Lisnaskea 3-11 Tempo 4-05

Lisnaskea booked their place in the Intermediate Championship final with a three-point win over Tempo on Sunday.

Just 12 months on from winning the Junior Championship, the Emmets will have the chance to clinch silverware once again and a first intermediate title since 2011.

John Reihill’s side's clinical nature in front of goal have served them well this year and it was no different at Shamrock Park with Damien Og Kelly, Hayden Lynch and Mark Little all finding the net.

However, Tempo also registered four goals themselves but despite a late surge, they were unable to claw back the deficit. Lisnaskea raced into a 1-04 to no score lead before the 15-minute mark. Joe McDade found Dylan Tierney who cut in and pointed for the first score.

Lynch landed a second with a brilliant long-range strike. Justy McDade went on a mazy run before cutting inside and sending over a third point.

After a Lynch free, they found the opening goal as Justy McDade fed Kelly in behind and he neatly finished to the net.

Tempo responded midway through the half as Oisin Murphy was brought down by goalkeeper Ethan McCaffrey and Oisin Jackson, initially had his penalty saved, before finishing the rebound.

Tiarnan Bogue kicked the Maguire's first score but Kelly and Lynch hit back with two points each.

Bogue then found a second Tempo goal before halftime but Lisnaskea hit two more of their own as Lynch intercepted a Matthew Jackson kick-out and ran in to finish and Mark Little finished off another quick move to make it 3-07 to 2-02 at the interval.

It was a tentative start for the Emmets in the second half and Tempo hit the first point through PJ Rogers after five minutes.

That was followed by Emmets points from Lynch, Joe McDade, Kelly and Tom Clarke to make it 3-11 to 2-03. Again, Tempo struck midway into the half with Bogue slotting home his second goal and Aidan Breen split the posts a minute later.

Tempo rushed men forward in search of drawing level and left holes at the back for Lisnaskea to attack but they were wasteful as two big chances to end the game were missed.

A goalmouth scramble saw Tempo score a fourth goal via Rogers in stoppage time and a Ben Warnock free closed the gap to three with seconds to go but Lisnaskea held on for a memorable victory.
