An Enniskillen angler has been honoured with funding awards at a celebration night.
James O’Doherty was one of 150 athletes to receive awards from the Mary Peters Trust during a special October Athletes Academy.
The event took place at the Belfast Harbour Commissioners offices.
The awards, acknowledging O'Doherty's global participation in angling, provide financial and general support to help athletes succeed in their sporting careers and achieve their individual goals.
The ceremony also featured appearances from figures such as BBC Northern Ireland senior sports journalist Nigel Ringland, who interviewed Tracey McClenaghan and Luke Carson, the mother and coach of Olympic gold-winning gymnast Rhys McClenaghan.
Adrian Beattie, a director at Navigator Blue, also spoke at the event about athletes and personal branding.
Award winners, representing 28 different sports from judo, hockey and motorcycling to boccia, para triathlon, sailing and squash, were nominated and selected through a rigorous process.
The awards ceremony was attended by parents, family members, and sport liaison officers.
The event marked the second year of the David Magill Coaching Awards.
This programme, in memory of Belfast pole-vaulter, businessman, and hotelier David Magill, was set up by the Magill family alongside the Mary Peters Trust.
