Fermanagh U20 manager Maurice McLaughlin has added two new faces to his backroom team as he prepares for his fifth year in charge- having been with the county minor team for two years previously.

For, ex-Belcoo star Johnny Feely and Enniskillen Gaels star Fergal Quinn are on board for 2025.

“It is great to have the calibre of Johnny coming on board- coming on the back of coaching Lisnaskea to a Fermanagh Junior and Intermediate title," McLaughlin said.

“It is great to get a young innovative Fermanagh coach into our team and indeed we have another exciting young coach in Fergal Quinn joining us as well.

“Fergal is an ex-county minor captain, and he has had a very successful start to his coaching and management career with Enniskillen Gaels Ladies minor team and he is also heavily involved in underage coaching with the Gaels and with their senior team this year."

McLaughlin added: “Johnny and Fergal will supplement our already experienced backroom team of Aidan McElroy and Patrick Treanor who are both from Tyrone.

“Aidan has been with us for three years and this is Patrick’s second year.

“Aidan has recently been appointed to manage Eglish in Tyrone having previously managed Tyholland in Monaghan last year.

“Patrick has managed his own club of Augher and has also been involved with Fermanagh at senior level.

“I am looking forward to sitting down and planning the season ahead as we feel we have a very good group with serious potential this year.

“They deserve the very best structures that we can give them.”

And with 16 of last year’s squad still available the Cloghore native feels Fermanagh can mount a real challenge in what is a tough competition in Ulster.

“We will be back training in January and lads are already on individual strength and conditioning programmes.”
